Dementia and Psychiatric Behavioral Home

anthony2Hi this is Anthony Diaz. Many people see Rosa’s Chante as a wonderful adult care home. I agree and we have worked hard to be a solid home for our residents. We have introduced different types of therapies and make sure our resident’s needs are taken care of. Here is a piece of trivia that you might not know. Did you know that Rosa’s Chante is a dementia and psychiatric behavioral lock down facility?

That is right. In this quiet lovely home setting, we are designed to be a safe setting for intensive mental health treatment including observation medication management are all part of an overall plan of care that is a coordinated effort between the individual, the family or guardian and the treatment team and outpatient service providers.

We do this because here at Rosa’s, we are fully aware that about 20 percent of adults aged 55 or older have experienced some type of mental health concerns. One of the ongoing problem with diagnosis and treatment of mental illness in seniors is the fact that older adults are more likely to report physical symptoms than psychiatric complaints, However, even the normal physical and emotional stresses that go along with aging can be risk factors for mental illnesses like anxiety and depression.

Some of the symptoms that are associated with aging and mental health include depression, anxiety, social withdrawal, loss of interest in things that used to be enjoyable, confusion, disorientation, problems with concentration or decision-making, memory loss, feelings of worthlessness, inappropriate guilt, helplessness; thoughts or talk of suicide and trouble handling finances or working with numbers.

Of course there are other symptoms and many reasons why people who are ageing have mental health issues and concerns, however for Rosa’s our number one concern is to keep our residents safe and healthy while addressing the many issues that they may face. This is just another thing we are committed in doing for our community.
